The Library

Census 2020

We realize that with the “Shelter-in-place” many residents that do not have internet service at home will not be able to complete the 2020 Census requirements. However, we wanted to remind you that we do have Wi-Fi service that we leave on virtually 24 hours, 7 days a week. Our service is detectable as far away as the street if you choose to do so from your vehicle, or we offer seating on our front porch as well. Thank you for your patience during this difficult time.

Viewing has been suspended until further notice, due to Coronavirus precaution.

During the COVID-19 Pandemic we regret that we need to not allow use of these materials until further notice. Thank you for your understanding.

Through The Health and Wellness Community Choice Award, given to the MidYork Library System by the Community Foundation of Herkimer and Oneida Counties, we were able to purchase games that can be taken out for personal use.

Any adult person with a library card can borrow these items for one week.  Make your summer parties even more fun with these games.

DONATIONS In recent years we have been gifted funds in memory of several wonderful people in the Dolgeville area. Among them are Marie Haughton and Esther Austin. With these generous donations we have been able to build our Large Type collection, purchase a sofa for the children’s area as well as two comfortable chairs for your leisurely reads. Thank you all for your support.

Looking for something to read?

Check out: Never start a series in the middle again.  The Fantastic Fiction website has all the information you will need.  This site is a reader’s dream come true. Bibliographies for over 30,000 authors. Use the browse menu to find an author by surname, or use the search boxes to search for an author or book. Information on over 350,000 books. Throughout the site, just click on a book to see its cover picture, description and publication details. We are also pleased to announce that MidYork now offers this same capability on their website as well. When you are researching to order or put a hold on a book, there is now an “Enhanced Content” Tab that gives you all the same type of information that Fantastic Fiction does.

Used Books Available

Please note that we cannot accept donations until further notice during the Coronavirus Pandemic Period. We are closed so we cannot allow anyone in to “shop” for used books either. Thank you in advance for understanding.
