ADIRONDACK MEDITATION

HARMONIZING SPIRIT, MIND AND BODY
Join us to learn the basics of mindfulness meditation; a practice dedicated to bringing understanding of the mind and heart.  Meditation provides many benefits.  Among them are: scientifically proven benefits of reducing stress, improving immune function, increasing positive emotions and attentive abilities, and deepening the qualities of practitioners to see into their deepest nature.  In so doing, practitioners become freer from suffering and able to feel gratitude for what each day brings.  Instructor: Rosann Scalise, M.Ed.

TAI CHI

Tai Chi, a form of exercise developed in ancient China, has been demonstrated to have a powerful effect on health. Known for its slow, fluid movements, the central premise in Tai Chi is to integrate the mind and body.  It has been shown to promote balance, flexibility, muscular strength and cardiovascular fitness , as well as increased levels of psychological well-being and reduction of anxiety and stress.

Tai Chi is accessible to most everyone, even those who may wheelchair bound. One of its appealing attributes is that you never get down on the floor.  The movements are all performed standing, or seated for those who may have mobile impairment.

Instructor: Rosann Scalise, M.Ed., is a certified Tai Chi Instructor through the Tai Chi for Health Institute, a world-wide Tai Chi organization developed by family physician and renowned Tai Chi expert, Dr. Paul Lam.

The Classes will be held offsite, at the “Community Room,” adjacent to the Bassett Health Care Clinic, at 36 Slawson Street, Dolgeville. Time and Dates are as follows:
